Lake Powell RC Modelers Meeting Minutes March 8, 2016

Present: Bob Martin, Tom Zwack, Joe McPhail, Jon Ridpath, Pam Brown

1.       Bob Martin was welcomed as our newest member.  He has a long history of rc modeling and has specialized in gliders in the past.  He is looking forward to shaking off some rust and honing his skills.  We’ll be looking forward to seeing him out at the field.
2.       Judy has generously agreed to continue the blog reports.  You may want to bookmark http://lprcm.blogspot.com in your Internet Browser so that you can keep informed of club activities. Check out Abby McPhail’s photo!
3.       Membership dues of $40 are now payable for the April 1 start date of our membership year.  You can drop off your check to Tom Zwack or Pam Brown or you can mail a check to LPRCM at Box 1952, Page, AZ 86040.
4.       Pam is still working on meeting announcements and press release articles to increase club visibility in the community.  Brochures were distributed that members can use to recruit new members.
5.       Members are encouraged to start a cardboard box to collect items for an RC swap meet early summer.
6.       Pam will be contacting lapsed members to encourage them to rejoin the group.
7.       Maintenance at the field is in pretty good shape.  Tom Zwack’s secret week killer recipe seems to have done the trick.  Thanks again to Tom for all the work on the chemicals, sprayer, and the endless application over such a large area.  When there is some moisture, we will roll the runway and stripe.
8.       Treasurer’s Report: Tom Zwack reported the current bank balance at $3601.80.  We have enough weed spray on hand for the near future.
9.       Election of Officers: Motion by Jon, second by Joe, passed to retain current officers in their present positions.
President: Pam Brown
Vice President: Joe McPhail
Treasurer: Tom Zwack
Safety Officer: Jon Ridpath
10.   Joe straightened the perimeter fence where there was a jog by the end of the crosswind runway.
11.   Lease with City of Page is paid through August 2025.

12.   Jon demonstrated his new radio transmitter. It has 18 channels and can hold 100 models.  It can control the weather, order pizza delivery, and check your facebook status while keeping Jon’s plane in the air.  He’s in the process of reading the five volumes of instructions.
